St Kilda Lifesaving Club

A History of the club

St Kilda Lifesaving Club was established in 1914. Thereafter, has been proud member of the Royal Life Saving Society of Australia (now Lifesaving Victoria – an encompassing body that provides life saving services to all Victorian waterways).

We occupy a central location in one of the premier tourist areas of Melbourne, on Victoria's most popular beaches.

Members actively patrol and assist in training of lifesavers all over Victoria, participate in assisting water safety for local events, have representatives and competitors at lifesaving competitions all over the country, provide a venue for other local businesses and services – we just generally get involved!

Our Mission

Our mission is to achieve excellence in all endeavours and uphold values of honesty, integrity, loyalty and service to our members, supporters and the community. We will foster individuals through lifesaving training and competition with common values and goals based on service to the community and honouring the traditions built over 100 years of lifesaving at St Kilda Beach.
